Default 2016 Ram Hemi 5.7 Noise??

Hey all. Brand new to the forum. I have a 2016 Ram Hemi 5.7 4x4, and over the past month or so, I’ve developed a tick. On start up, it sounds exactly like the exhaust tick I’ve heard in some videos, but it comes back? Took it to a local mechanic, and he said it’s a lifter / cam shaft. My question is, if it was that, wouldn’t it be all the time? It goes away by 40 mph and doesn’t even do it until you either stop, or shut off the engine.
Any advice would be amazing!

Default random hemi tick

It is a lifter roller bearing in the early stage of failure. I had the same experience, a random tick that only happened at idle. I was lucky and replaced all the lifters before it damaged the camshaft. PS: I've had the broken exhaust bolt tick and I know what that sounds like and this noise didn't go away as the engine warmed. This was a random tick, not a continuous tap tap tap.
