Angry windows gremlin

After locking and walking away from my truck for 30-45 seconds, the windows on the front two doors just go down on their own and the doors unlock. I go back turn the fob to accessory or on and close the windows, remove the fob, lock the doors, walk away and it will do the same again. Sometimes the windows only go down half way, wait 10 seconds, and then go the rest of the way down. I just recently bought this truck and only got one fob that the lock and emergency buttons are the only ones that work. Could that contribute? I've ordered two new fobs and a programmer to fix the fob issue. I need this gremlin to go away!

It sounds to me like the unlock button is stuck on the fob you have. I can't say for sure if your 2010 has this feature, but it's not terrible uncommon with newer vehicles to have a feature where if you press and hold the unlock button the windows roll down and usually the sunroof will also move to the vent position if you have a sunroof. Pressing and holding the lock button on the fob will then usually close the sunroof and roll the windows back up. With a properly working remote, if you release the button before the windows have reached a stop, the windows will stop at their current location.

So I suspect your truck has this feature (if you have an owner's manual you can check there) and for the times the windows stop part way down, the fob is temporarily out of range. The Lock and Panic buttons probably take priority over Unlock which would then explain why you feel only the lock and panic buttons work.

If so inclined, you could open up the fob to access the circuit board, then test for continuity across the switch/contacts for Unlock. You could also remove the battery from the fob and use the key to unlock the truck to see if the issue stops while the battery is removed from the fob. If it does, you can have really high confidence the fob is the issue and pretty high confidence new fobs will fix it.
