Default Quick Replacement Engine Quesiton

Hey Everyone,
I have a real quick question. I have a 2010 1500 5.7, I am replacing the Motor with one from a 2014. I know that it should pretty much be a direct swap. My Only question is about the Reluctor ring on the crank. I have been getting mixed things across forums on the internet, but apparently all I should have to do is swap over the Crank Position Sensor form the Original 2010 Motor onto the 2014 and it should be able to read the Newer Reluctor ring just fine.

Is this correct?

I think the engines from 2009 and up are interchangable as long as you use the same year sensors from your old one. Unfortunately crate engines are hard to find for these 4th gen and newer trucks these days. Even if you do find one, most of the manufacturers want you to have proof that you also replaced the intake manifold with a brand new one, have a copy of a diagnostic scan with no DTCs present in closed loop operation and also want proof that all the work was done by a certified shop to honor the warranty. IE, If you don't have any way of proving any of this you're pretty much buying a brand new engine "as is" if you install it yourself unless you own a certified repair shop or have someone that does that can present all this on your behalf.
