Default New to 4th Gen Question

Just had a catastrophic loss due to motor issues on my 2006 Ram that I’d had for over 12 years.

In a few short days, I’ll be the owner of a 2015 Laramie Ram and want to know the best/simplest tuner or plug-n-play OBD2 device to disable MDS.

I’ve seen the technique of gearing up to 8, however I am looking for options that I won’t have to do ritually every time I put it in drive.

Thank you so much!

thank you for the link but it’s not a Cummins.
Is Diablo predator tuners still decent just for purposes of disabling MDS?

Default Diablo

You didn't specify what engine in your original request. Always helps to get the right answers!
Unfamiliar with Diablo, but looking at the info, it would seem to do what you want.

Surprise! You have a 2015, the year they started locking PCM's (like REALLY encrypting them). You will either need to send your PCM in to be unlocked ($$) or buy one that is already unlocked and have it programmed and VIN matched to your vehicle ($$$$). Otherwise, set it to 8.
Curiosity question; why? Do you just hate the idea of it or have you spent entirely too much time on the interwebs reading the BS?

You sho right. I’m sorry. It’s a 5.7 hemi.
I have a Diablo tuner for my ‘06 Charger but they marry to the vehicle so you can’t hot swap them.

I want to ensure my motor does take a 💩 due to MDS. Common issue as you know. I wasn’t aware the PCM was that involved starting in 2015, so that’s good to know for future. Thank you!

Hahahahahaha!!!! Yep, too much time on the interwebs reading the BS.
Been spending alot of time on Fb and lesser forums I see. MDS is not the cause of those failures. Sh!tty material and corporate greed contributed to an absolute sh!te run of lifters from about 2011 to about 2014-15 ish.
Let's try some logic:
1. If MDS was truly the culprit, why wasn't it an issue for the hundreds of thousands of MDS engines produced from 2005 to 2010?
2. If MDS was truly the culprit, why do lifter failures happen to stick shift cars (which do not have MDS)?
3. If MDS was truly the culprit, why are cylinders 2, 3, 5 & 8 affected and not just 1, 4, 6 & 7?
4. Why would you think that just disabling MDS and not removing & replacing the lifters completely would somehow magically save your engine?
