Exclamation P1524 oil pressure out of range - oil filter problem

Hi everybody,

About a year go I got a Dodge ram 1500 5.7 Hemi from 2014 with 265.000kmAfter the last oil change, I got a P1524 fault code indicating low oil pressure. I then connected the truck to a diagnostic computer and read the fault code. It turned out to be related to low oil pressure, which could be caused by a faulty sensor, the oil filter, or the oil itself.

I looked around on some forums and found that it could be either the oil or the filter. I decided to start by changing the oil and the filter. After that, the fault disappeared and the oil pressure was back to normal. However, after about a month, the fault came back and the oil pressure slowly started dropping again.

I then replaced the filter once more and found that it was clogged. There was no metal debris in it.

A colleague told me he had the same issue with a truck that had poor or low-quality oil in it. The oil started to clump together, which clogged the filter, and he ended up having to replace the filter several times as well.

Does anyone here have experience with this, or any tips on how to get the oil clean again so I don’t have to keep replacing the filter?
Thanks,
Jarijn

What brand of oil and filters have you been using, what weight of oil? do you have pictures of the blockage? I think a filter would have to be blocked up so far as to be ripping the paper before you set a low pressure fault. Id lean towards the sensor first, I've replaced a few of dodge oil pressure sensors

what year is the truck, does it have an evic of level that will display actual pressure reading?

Clogged with what? If the oil wasn't changed on a regular basis it can turn into sludge. This sounds like your problem.

Seems like oil sludge or something, i changed oil every 14.000 km. truck displays says 16.000.
Co worker ( had same issue) said he had the same thing because the previous owner used low quality oil so old oil sludge sticks to the motorwalls, new oil takes little bit old sludge and plugs the filter. Dont know if its true but sounds logic to me

Just used a Napa Gold filter 7060MP and Napa premium full synt 5W20. I do have pictures of the paper ill see if i can attach em.
Yes has a digital display. when i got the engine warning light it hit under a 100kpa, but goes down slowly. After i replaced the filter oil pressure was 360kpa on 2000rpm
data from sensor seems pretty accurate tested with the OBD reader.
