2020 Dodge Ram 1500
Just wondering how long it takes to fix a Ram 1500 that is in the shop for a Drive train warranty? Has only 51000 and a few miles and "dropped" a valve per the repair shop. Has been in the shop now for 5 months and still not fixed. Have had to call or go by shop when in town (an hour away) every week to find out if there is any progress on the vehicle.
Here it is over 5 months now that vehicle has been in the shop. Finally put a new motor in it and waiting on an intake manifold. (One part at a time) Was told the part should be in sometime last week but have not heard anything from the dealership as to whether or not it is in.
To racerxv6 - I finally got them to send me a picture of the problem and it was a busted spring in the head. Think that we are being pushed back since the vehicle wasn't bought there and they could care less, can't or won't loan vehicle although others have gotten loaners. The vehicle belongs to our son and he has our pickup so he can get back & forth to work. We are to the point of needing our vehicle back so we can use it for vacation as we will be pulling a 5th wheel with it. Have talked to several other customers when we are up there that have had to wait 3 months to get theirs repaired. Dealerrater.com doesn't have any good reviews about the GM and the company doesn't have many good reviews. Think I can understand why.
To jkeaton - They have not told us anything unless we are the ones calling or going to the dealership every week and asking. The so called "service adviser" can't remember what lie he has told us any time we call him. Have better luck with a different SA as he will investigate the status of parts when we go in there.

My wife works in the industry on the collision side. she states that she is starting to see parts issues again. But for a valve, I would think those are plentiful. That's a little scary that you dropped a valve at 51,000. I would go to the shop and request to see that failed part and see your truck. They cannot keep you from that. Make sure that they actually torn down and are being honest.
