1995 neon sport coupe with roof rack
asking $800 obo located in mendota, illinois
2-door, dohc, automatic car has 148,000 miles or so...motor/trans has about 120,000
power locks and mirrors
5 lug wheels, 4 wheel disc brakes, complete prothane suspension bushing kit, pioneer cd player
paint is rough
middle of front bumper is cut out from where an intercooler was mounted when i bought the car...
dent in drivers side
sounds like a front motor mount or cv joint is going bad...car makes a clunking sound when you let off the gas....
needs struts, front rotors need to be turned, frontleft turn signal doesnt work, trunk pop doesnt work(need to use key), tire are shot (i will probally be replacing them today, and throwing a set of 14" eagle alloy aluminum rims on the car)
so here is the story with this car....car was originally a sohc 5 speed with a hahn stage 2 turbo...the previous owner blew up the sohc and had it replaced with a dohc.....the guy that installed the dohc did a complete chop job, so the previous owner sold me the car.....
when i got the car i took everything apart and re-did everything.....
i swapped the 5-speed to an auto(for work purposes) but the clutch/brake pedels are still intact in the car....and removed all the turbo parts...
the engine bay wire harness, dohc engine, auto trans, pcm, axels, radiator, radiator fans and complete exhaust are out of a 97 neon....i have put about 10,000 miles or so on the car since the swap and everything has worked fine....though there is a studder when the car is in reverse, i think it might be because of the egr valve...but im not really sure, it only started this about 1,000 miles ago...otherwise the car runs and drives fine

new tires....bigger then stock size so it throws the speedo off, but it will get you where you need to go....
