Neon up for grabs
Okay, here's the deal... I just put a new engine in this car, it has less than 50K miles on it the body has about 80K miles. Right now it has a CAI, pacesetter header, ugly 14's w/ Falken P195 60's, a dual blade GT wing, 3A racing muffler, pioneer head unit w/ pioneer 6x9's and dual 6 1/2's. Short throw shifter, no carpet and a hole in the dash. Clutch only has 2K on it. Has gun metal altezza lights w/ super white bulbs in the head lights and xenon reverse lights. Also a strut bar up front and prothane motor mount inserts. Definetly needs a new paint job. Basically this is a beater car, with about a thousand bucks you could make it nicer looking. Here's the clincher, right now she'll crank but she won't turn over. The wiring harness is old and worn out, probably needs to be replaced. After a while and some finagalling she'll turn but this morning she wouldn't at all. I bought it about 6 months ago and have only had trouble since. It sucks all my money and, being in college, I have no more to pump into it. 2K is a lot, but the new engine and minor mods cost about $1,200 and the car itself is worth about $800 maybe less maybe more. Blue book wont put a value on it. I'd love to keep it but I don't have the resources. I have to have something more reliable so I'm going to a dealer and getting something with a warranty. Selling this car will hopefully give me a down payment on a new one, something that, if it breaks, I can drop it off at the dealership and say fix it and not worry about it. I kid you not, this car is raggedy but with time and effort, not to mention some cash, could be okay. This is not a car for first time mechanics or anyone who want's to rag it out, but doesn't have the money to fix it. This car is for experienced owner's who know what they're getting into. it's first engine was, the head gasket blew and the engine seized so i put in a new one. When it started to act up I removed a lot of the modifications hoping that returning it to stock would make it more reliable. After ragging out so many cars, I decided to treat this engine nicley, I've been driving it like a grandma, that's why I'm so frustrated with it. I treat it well but it still won't work reliably. Being that it's my only car that is the #1 priority, not making it go fast. Maybe you want it for those trips to and from hockey practice?lol
I would take it off you hands right now, but I'm in Connecticut and it would cost me more to get the car here than to buy it, so unless I can come live with you for a while while I make it run, can't help ya. But good luck.
