TRADE ONLY: VW DUNEBUGGY FOR NEWER PT CRUISER
TRADE ONLY: 1956 VW DUNE BUGGY FOR 03-05 PT CRUISER (low miles)
I will try this once. I am thinking about trading my 1956 VW fiberglass dunebuggy in for a newer 03-05 PT Cruiser in good condition, with clean, clear title. Prefer a GT of course. I have 98 V-6 Mustang that I might throw in too. The mustang still has $3,000 owed on it . Stang has under 80,000 miles on it, 5 speed. My buggy is a rare, hard-to-find Fibertech "SPYDER" from Texas. It looks similar to a manx clone but with lower side skirts and fenders. Here is what is on it now: chevy adapter chrome rims, cooper cobra white letters, rear size is:P275-60R15 phatties, front size is: P215-70R14, 1967 1500 sp 12V engine, swing axle tranny, king linkpin frontend, chrome rollbar, windshield and titled as a 1956 VW tudor (beetle). New things on it:
-front wheel cylinders
-front brakes (drums)
-front brake adjusters
-front uprgrade to roller bearings
-ebake & cables
-accelerator cable
-gas line
-fuel filter
-air assembly and filter
-sparkplugs and wires (Bosch baby!)
-rhino liner floor board/have marine carpet too
-battery
Has poly high back seats with modified lowered VW seat sliders. Painted drum hubs high temp blue and shifter stick. Oh, it is original metalflake BLUE. Need a few things to be street legal:wipers & motors, seatbelts.
It ran a month ago but I have been told it is an easy fix; check fuel pump, more than likely diaphragm is crack, replace whole fuel pump; or it's carb and the float is the problem. But this was my fathers and mine as a project. He was diangosed with renal and bone cancer and could not help me complete. He passed away this year.So now I am lost on the whole VW thing- I know newer cars better than old. Email me for pics and any questions. Sorry the pics I have are of it early 2004, before I buffed it out. The pics kind of suck since it's darker in the shop and before the buff. But my digi cam and scanner went down on me and after the holidays I am kind of broke. Maybe I should have asked Santa for it
The buggy is always garage kept. REMEBER: I am not certain yet if I want to let my baby go!!!!! But it never hurts to send in what you have with pics and specs to try to persuade me into the trade. Email me at tgowens@arkansas.net Thanks-chantel
