Default FS: 1990 Dakota Sport Convertible 5speed 4x4

I've come to the realization I just can't keep up with everything I've got and need to cut back on my vehicle count. This is the first to go.

I bought this truck September 2006 from the original owner with 191k on it.

Dodge built 2842 Dakota convertibles in 1989, 909 in 1990 and 8 in 1991. The 4x4 5 speed combination with bucket seats is fairly unusual as the majority of the convertibles appear to have been automatics. The truck is loaded with cruise control, power locks, power windows, and air conditioning, all of which work. The AC has also been converted to R-134. It also has an aftermarket Sony CD player with four new Sony Xplod speakers. The rear end is a 3.55 rear with anti-spin differential. The truck has a Class III receiver and is rated to tow 4100 lbs.

Mechanically I’ve done the following:

• New timing chain
• New water pump
• New fuel pump
• New valve cover gaskets
• New thermostat and thermostat housing
• New K&N air filter
• New rubber fuel lines (using fuel injection hose)
• New Edelbrock equal length headers
• New Magnaflow catalytic converter
• New Mopar 02 sensor
• New EGR valve
• New Heartthrob 3 inch cat back exhaust
• New OWL tires (May 2009 - note the tires in the pics are the old tires)
• New front axles
• New u-joints (both front and rear driveshafts)
• New clutch, flywheel, pressure plate and throwout bearing
• New front calipers
• New rear wheel cylinders
• New front rotors
• New rear drums
• New front pads and rear shoes
• New rubber and metal brake lines all around
• New rear axle bearings and seals
• Rebuilt transfer case
• New polyurethane cab mounts

Cosmetically the truck is in nice driver quality shape. The paint looks good but has its fair share of nicks and scratches. I did have the hood, windshield surround, tops of the fenders, and some rust repair done in the driver’s side rocker at a cost of $1600 in 2006 right after buying the truck. The paint on the sides and the decals are original. I did show the truck at Carlisle in 2008 and received 3rd place in the Dakota 4x4 class, so I think that attests to the fact that while not cosmetically perfect it does present itself well. The convertible top was replaced a few years prior to my ownership and is in excellent condition.

The issues the truck has are as follows:
- The top pin in the driver’s side door hinge creaks.
- Under heavy load (like going up a long hill in 5th gear) the air flow from the dash vents sometimes reverts to the floor.
Neither of the above bothered me enough to address them.

I'd like to get $5,900 out of it. If you're interested drop me an email at sdrega@juno.com. I'm located in Frederick, Maryland and can deliver the truck within a reasonable distance. Hate to see this one go .....
