1979 DODGE TRUCK (LIKE RED EXPRESS)
1979 D100 Custom Heavy Duty 1/2 Ton Pickup; 9,400 Miles since hobbyist
restoration; Original Colorado GSA Rustfree Truck (original 6 cyl. 4-speed ).
Restoration includes:
CHASSIS WORK: New ball joints; tie rod ends; front & rear wheel
bearings/seals; shocks; urethane bushings; rubber bed mat; 4-wheel disc brakes
w/new calipers & pads; new power brake booster and master cylinder; big block coil
springs and motor mounts; Class III Hitch; NOS side mirrors; tail light lens;
headlight bezels; grille, windshield, sliding back window, door seals, etc.
DIFFERENTIAL: Original 3:55 Suregrip, with new wheel bearings and seals;
HP Gear Oil w/suregrip fluid; new U-joints.
TRANSMISSION: Fully rebuilt with new seals; done with Overdrive 4-speed in
steel case;
Mobil 1 Gear Oil; Rebuilt Hurst Competition Plus with A-body shifter and
nostalgia round ****; New Dual Force clutch disc and throwout bearing; New HP
Diaphram pressure plate; Lakewood 2-piece Bell Housing (Chrysler A833 New
Process 4-speed)
ENGINE: 1973 Motorhome 413 Block (HD) machine shop built bottom end; .030
bore;
Sterling 10:1 cast pistons; forged crank .010; .010; polished beam LY rods; Clevite
77 rods and mains; chrome/moly rings; fully dynamically balanced rotating
assembly; Windage Tray w/Milodon 8 qt. Pan; High Volume oil pump w/Mopar HP
spring; Purple Shaft Cam kit (approx. 278 duration; .474 lift hydraulic); new
pushrods, rocker arms, and hard chrome shafts; 452 cast heads lightly ported with
oversize SS valves; Moroso chrome valve covers; TTI full length headers
w/copper gaskets; INDY dual plane intake; factory rebuilt
BB Carter Thermoquad; classic dual snorkel air filter w/K&N filter; Rebuilt
electronic distributor w/Tach Drive; new Blaster 2 Coil, HP dual Ballast
resistors; New MSD 8.5mm Copper Wires; NOS engine harness, new Power
Steering Pump; Edelbrock high volume water pump; new factory alternator, new
washer fluid tank; Road Runner style horns; Engine running Mobil 1 15-50 oil.
CAB: Standard '79 Cab (like Red Express); NOS guage panel cover (wood
grain); new speedometer, and guages; added Autometer and Stewart Warner oil
press; oil temp; water temp; cylinder head temp; vacuum; and NOS Nostagia tach
(mech drive); New center dash radio speaker; new black carpet; Red Express style
split bench/sport seat done in expensive, quality, black aircraft leather; new black
carpet w/floor mats; NOS leather wrapped Chrysler Steering Wheel.
OTHER: New radiator 4-core using original for base, for proper fit; All new
paint; frame painted; 4-prong trailer harness.
EXTRA GOOD PARTS: Rustfree 1980 Doors and Hood; a decent tailgate,
one aftermarket
fender; Factory Service Manual; miscellaneous other parts; Have all new
emergency brake cables and new pedal assembly (emer. brake needs some work --
straight forward work).
THIS IS A GREAT TRUCK FOR A MOPAR ENTHUSIAST WITH
SOME MECHANICAL HIGH PERFFORMANCE SKILL !
