1967 Dodge Dart
Dodge Dart GT Convertible. This is an incredible original body 1967 Dodge Dart convertible from California. This is a pristine 1967 Dart GT convertible with a 440. Yes, this is a real date coded 68 440 HP V8 motor just like the "real" 440 GSS hardtop Darts. The 440 has many upgrades and an A727 Torqueflite 3-speed automatic. Unlike many of the other Darts, this is an original 56K California bodied car that has been done as Mr. Norm would have in 1967/1968. It has a 440 K member, 8 3/4 axle with 3.91 gears. The huge racing battery has been moved to the trunk. The OEM-style chassis remains in place with torsion bars up front and manual disk brakes added in the front and parallel leafs out back that are super stock leaf springs and 10 inch manual drum brakes added in the back. An aluminum radiator keeps the monster motor at 180 degree thermostat setting. There has been no body work done to this beautiful straight body. The dark blue paint shows the body off! All of the chrome and stainless is in great condition. This is not a "restored" convertible that has had fenders and doors chop or cut to fit the 440 engine into it. It has the 440 exhaust manifolds and complete exhaust down thru the bright stainless tips. This Dart started out as a GT with a 273 cu in V8 with light blue exterior and white interior. It has been painted a Dodge dark metallic blue and a Legendary black interior has been professionally installed with new foam. The convertible top is the more expensive black top. Take a good look at the highly detailed pictures and you'll see a Dart that is very rare and exceptional. Obviously with 56k original miles the under carriage and fender wells still have the original undercoating and NEVER any rust! The car's panels, floors and trunk are all original. The body is straight and the panels line up as anything that sits on a modern showroom floor (or a complete restoration). A thorough examination of all this Dodge's bushings, lines and hoses ensures it has the plenty of road going reliability. The original factory body tags are just as they were in 1967. All of the rubber on the doors and trunk are new. All of the gages, windows and convertible top work like new. The rumble from the exhaust let's everyone know there is a worked over 440 under the hood. The tires are new BF Goodrich radial red lines on 15 inch rims and Hemi dog dish hub caps. I have included a picture of the floor boards with the carpet removed. They are unbelievable. This car was originally a 273 cu IN V8.
