Wanted:

FWD, Auto tranny out of a 1.8L '93 DSM Car, which are as follows:

'93 Eagle Talon
'93 Mitsubishi Eclipse
'93 Plymouth Laser

Has to be a '93 and FWD, not AWD.

now why would you want that? Cant you use the 4g63s tranny???arent they the same as the 1.8s??

 

New to these cars. Just wanting a good replacement to drive the car. Tell me more about the 4g63s.

From what I have read, the 2.0 DOHC(4g63) transmission will bolt on, but there are issues with the computer. The speed sensors are loacted in dofferent locations, thus putting the engine into "limp mode". Limp mode is when the transmission is stuck into one gear, allowing you to "limp" home. I had an issue w/ an 95 Intrepid, ended up being a bad speed sensor. I have a 92 Eclipse GS w/2.0L and a 5spd, but dont know much on the 1.8L. Good luck

 

well id just swap the sensors then .....theres prolly @ most 2

We've decided to part with the car. Need the extra space in the garage, and wanted a 'drive as is' car. Anyone know anyone who would want to give it a good home? $600, as-is. Tranny doesn't move in any gear. Needs a pump.
