For 2nd gen (2000-up) Neons (Chrysler, Dodge, Plymouth) 2.0 Liter
These benefits also result in better fuel mileage.
Modern Performance created a lightweight crankshaft pulley that replaces your stock cast steel crankshaft pulley. The advantages of this pulley, is with two factors. First, weight: These pulleys on average weigh from 1.4- 1.6 lbs . That's in comparison to the weights of the stock 00-05 pulleys weighing just a little under 5lbs. This weight advantage of the MPx pulley allows the engine to be more peppy, more responsive to light throttle and when you turn the AC on, your car wont feel nearly as drained. The next factor, is in the size: Its smaller, so it has has less weight towards the outside of the pulley compared to the stock pulley. This also helps free up more power as the engine has less draw from the pulley. And lastly, the pulley is smaller, so it gives up less power to the alternator and the power steering/ac pumps. Your AC and Alternator will still be able to give out the output you need to have cold a/c, and charge your battery just like before, except your diverting less power from the engine .
These pulleys are created from very high quality Aluminum on a CNC machine created to exacting specifications. Then these pulleys are coated with a special hard coat process that layers the pulley with an ultra hard anodizing wear coat to protect the aluminum from any type of wear, dirt, belt wear. The type of anodizing used on the MPx pulleys is 7 TIMES the thickness of most anodizing hard coats out there, and the grade of this hard coat is what's called NASA grade anodizing hard coat as its overkill in most cases, but used when you need a part to last.
