Default what do I do?

ok I have a 2003 dodge ram QC and I decided to keep the stock HU because of how clean it looks for my sub amp hook up. I cannot get the amp to turn on and stay on. The amp I have has speaker level connections so I spliced the amp into the rear speakers to get the signal. I have a good solid ground and I have tried plugging the power control wire (blue wire) into the wiper fuse, ignition fuse, and splicing it into the cigarette ligher power wire. It seems like this should all work but I have only seen the light turn on the amp for about a second when the truck turned on and then it went off right away. I plugged the amp and sub into a buddys vehicle that is already wired and they both worked on his truck. I'm at a loss now on what to do to make this work. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for the help.

When you tried to power on the amp, were the speakers connected yet or not? If they are, disconnect them and see if the amp comes on. This will help determine if its a power issue or speaker issue....for lack of any technical terms whatsoever.

What is the voltage of your ground? And power for that matter. It sounds like you may have a short somewhere, since it works in another setup.

Do you have a multi-meter? Check and make sure that wire is still getting 12V even when the light goes off.Checkall the connections with the DMM. Sounds like an issue with the main power wire from the battery. I've seen that happen a few times. The light will come on for a second, but there is no voltage on the main power wire (Blown fuse, bad connection, ect) so the light goes right back out. Probably not an issue with the remote wire at all.

Ok I tried unplugging the speakers and that didn't do anything for the power to the amp. I'm going to try and get a buddy to help me tonight that has a multi-meter and see if the amp is getting the power or not. Thanks for suggestions, it gives me a direction on where to go so thats good. I you have anymore ideas let me know, thanks.
