Default Head unit ?s

first off i must say i am a noob at the whole car audio stuff. im only 16 and ive been driving for like 4 months so yeah.

are there certain head units that are compatible/ wont fit in a 01 dodge ram?
if so would a DUAL AUDIO XDMR7710 fit im my truck?

thanks

EDIT: one more dilema.
i have a rockford fosgate punch hx2 which is 800w & 1000w peak 2ohms
and i just won a kicker 12" comp and sub box which is around a 300w (i believe)

is there a way to power them both with the same amp with out killing the 300w.
cause i believe the sale rules apply for car audio to guitar cabs.
you have to have more watts in your speakers/ subs then whatever is powering them. example: 150w amp to 200w speakers.

sorry if thats confusing.

Any Single DIN radio (The size of most radios)will fit in that truck. They even make a few specific DIN and a half headunits for that truck. Double DIN's (The real big ones)will not fit, but they aren't extremely common anyways.

Yes... that Dual will fit in your truck. But it is a very low quality radio. It may look fancy, but soon you'll realize that a plain radio that works well is worth a lot more than a fancy one that's going in the trash can.

Agreed, never mix and match subs. They should all be the same.

I like this year model Pioneer H/U. Kinda partial to the 6900, but I'm kinda bias. I'm 17 and have been driving for about a year and a half so I know how you feel.

I had the pioneer p80-mp(old 6900 model) and after a few years sometimes my face wouldnt open, so I couldnt eject cd's. It was super annoying and made me pretty made when I didnt wanna listen to that cd anymore.

well any head unit that works is worth 13 bucks. while you are enjoying that one, i would be saving for a name brand - sony, alpine, pioneer, blaupunkt etc.

never mix and match subs or any speakers for that matter, you only asking for problems. just use the rockford fosgate, if its in good condition, they are excellent subs. just make sure that your amp is not giving it too much juice
