I'm frustrated. I have an 04 Caravan with an OEM CD player and OEM single DVD deck.

I had local Stereo shop try to install a Pioneer 4900 MP3 deck because my OEM CD Player stopped reading cd's and I also wanted ability to read mp3's. This deck had a rear auxiliary input and the shop indicated it should should be fine for dvd play, since oem deck is power supply for dvd.

Well, audio worked fine, but no video, and they said OEM deck has something built into it for video and they can't help me out???

I'm still struggling to understand, nevertheless they refunded my money and said I'll need a deck with DVD and mp3 capability with a video out?

So now, I'm stuck with buying an in dash video dvd playing mp3 deck. Those aren't cheap.

Anyone else go through this.

I can't believe that you can't replace OEM deck with just a regular mp3 cd deck and still have DVD functioning.

its not a dvd player. u need the 4900dvd

 

Hey Marion, I know the 4900 isn't a dvd player, but that's my point.

I didn't think I would need an aftermarket in dash dvd player to make my OEM DVD player still function since the OEM cd player is toast.

I just want an aftermarket mp3 player deck and my OEM dvd to work, but it looks like I can't have that, but instead need to buy in dash dvd unless anyone else has some feedback.

 

ok i see wat your sayin now. OEM stuff is hard to match aftermarket stuff with. i would just buy an aftermarket dvd player and be done with it
