Default 2000 ram stereo install help

hello, I have a 2000 ram 3500 that I'm trying to install an after market stereo in. The problem is that the fella who had this truck before me hacked the stereo harness up putting in his own after market (which consequently didn't work either). Now I'm not getting power to what seems to be some sort of "pre-amp" on the door speakers. Thus I have no sound output. I can get power to the stereo itself no problems. I just can't get any output. Any ideas? Anything that might help me would be greatly appreciated!

if there is a stock amp for the speakers. possibly need to find the remote wire to the amp. i had this problem in my mazda with bose setup. put in after market setup and no sound to speakers.
had to tap into the remote wire to the amps from the head unit.
just a guess, not sure but may work

make sure all your power and signal wires are hooked up in the right place. may have to find a wiring diagram
