2000 dakota wiring colors for stereo
ok so heres the story:
about 4 years ago my sister rolled her stratus... so my parents got her a 2000 dakota (she works at a horse farm) she ahd her genious boyfriend wire her new cd player for her...... that did alot of good but as of last march the truck became mine. her boyfriendwired the 12volt constant wrong so every time i turn off my truck i loose all presets.
i have looked at it and for the most part it is wired right.. except that. i opened it up to fix it a few days ago and saw thatthe truck wires arent colered to match the adapter (which i expected) and my truck book doesnt have the color of the wires listed
u guys think you can tell me what color wire goes to my 12 volt constanton the adapter?
the wires are all black except a colored strip on them

get a dmm aka a volt meter... put it on DCV thats ac volts with the key off. touch each wire till u see 12 volts, thats constant, that will go to ur yellow wire on ur hu. to find ur switch wire u just turn the key on and when u find 1 w/ 12 volts, thats ur red wire
