Default Stock CD/Radio not working after battery changed

OK, I have a 2001 Grand Caravan and the battery died. After I replaced it, the stock stereo doesn't work any more. I know it's getting power since I see the LED's for the Bass/Treble controls flashing. I'm guessing that is some type of security lock or something. I checked the owner's manual and no help there. I did a search on the forum and didn't find anything.

Does anyone know if there's some kind of code to enter to unlock the stereo?

Umm no, there shouldn't be any security on there. Does it do this when it's running?? Usually flashing lights/display means low voltage.

Thanks rtkota5point9, for the reply.

This is a strange one since I've unhooked the battery several times before and never had any issue with the stereo. This time, I changed out the battery after it died and then had the problem with the stereo. The stereo simply doesn't power on, so no display at all except for the bass/treble slider led's are flashing on/off constantly whenever the key is switched to acc or ignition on with engine running or not and regardless of whether the stereo power switch is on or off.

I did a google search and found a couple sites that do sell codes for factory stereos but couldn't find one for this stereo yet. Apparently, this is a fairly common issue for factory stereos and there's some people who are capitalizing on the problem.

As far as the low voltage issue, I may have something like that since I just noticed the engine light on yesterday and will get it checked this weekend. Maybe that's it.

BTW, I like your R/T! What kind of performance and mileage do you get with that fine machine?
