upgrade sound!!!
wanting to upgrade sound system in my 04 ram. trying to find some room for aleast one 10" sub. i need to maintain the rear seat as i have two kids. i've seen some setups under the back seat. just woundering how the subs sound. doesn't seem like there would be much air space for the sub.
also i thought about the storage space under the front seat. anyone ever try that?

I put my sub underneath the front center seat. You will lose the storage in the very bottom. The top storage box will mount on top of the box, using the existing arms. You will lose the space between the factory center seat and the drink holder. I think there was about 3". The box sit right up to the edge of the drink holder.
Hot-boxes sells a center console box on ebay, which I have. I also wanted to retain my rear seats. Don't expect delivery for about 30 days if you buy from Doug, (Hot Boxes). Dougtakes the time to match your interior color. He will also want to know whichwoofer you plan to use so he can build the box with the approriate air space for optimal sound. It could be less on the delivery for you however, my interior is khaki, which appearently is not a predominate color, grey is.
I put the amp under the passanger seat. If youpurchase the new stackable Alpine amp, it fits nicely under the passenger seat and I was able to leave the jack where it is. Installation requires the front seat come completely out. I had Best Buy do the install.It is a slick system.
I used a 10" sub. It will damn near take your socks off. I am about sound quality however, not about how much can I irritate the car next too me, and rattle THEIR doors, so I also used dynamat on the doors.
JL Audio also builds a sub for under the center seat.
