Help Dodge Ram upgrade aftermarket stereo and amplifier from Infinity
Hello,
I am in need of some major help because I am not sure if I need new speakers or how to wire my old ones with an aftermarket stereo. Here is my setup, Pioneer Avic-d3 that is connected to the PAC C2R-CHY with the other two PACcontrollers for controls on my steering. I then have an Alpine 900RMS 4ch amp that I am going to use for my speakers. I was looking at the wiring diagram and noticed that the middle tweeter is wired in parrallel with the other two front tweeters. I also have seen that the speakers on the stock inifinity sound system run at about 2 OHMs....so here is my question. Is there any way to wire the infinity sound system with the 4 channel amp that will not lose power due to the different OHMs? Or, if I decide to get after market spekaers which ones should I replace in the truck and with what? I have heard in forums that you should replace the front door speakers with 6x9s, the rear door speakers with 6.5s, and I have heard various things about replacing the tweeters in the front. Some forums said that if you install after market speakers you should not include the middle tweeter. How would you wire the 2 Tweeters, 2 6x9s, and 2 6.5s though? I am pretty sure the 6.5s would go on the rear two channels of the amp, but how would you wire the other 4 front speakers with only 2 channels left on the 4 channel amp?

I wouldn't bother to hook up that amp to the Infinty's. Your amp probably wont like running at2ohms without being bridged.
If it were me I would run the deck with the amp through 6.5 coaxials in the rear doors, and then some 6.5 components in the front. You could hide the tweeter from the component in the dash if you don't want to mount them to your door.
If you really want to run the setup you were talking about I would run the dash speakers off of the decks power, and the 6x9's off the amp. If you run them both off the amp yo'll be back to 2ohms again, make sure it's 2ohm stable(in stereo)if you wire it like that.
