I need to get some more power to my door speakers and I have never wired an AMP to anything other than a sub. Can I splice into the harness behind the deck and run the speaker wires to the amp? I usually have the speaker wires run directly from the amp, but I would like to keep the watts that the receiver is putting out.

typically you run low power RCA patch cords from the deck to the amp. there are some amps that will accept higher powered 'speaker level' inputs. look for that feature.

i don't know what would happen if you spliced speaker output to an amp not designed for it.
