Default How to tell if its the Infinity Sound System

Ok I have a 2000 Dodge Ram and have searched the web high and low for the answer. Seems no one knows (please god let the missing people that do know hide out here) how to tell if the sound system in my truck is the infinity system or not.

Any suggestions on what to do to find out?

I thought those years had an emblem on the speaker grills of the little Infinity emblem? If your music sound okay, you don't have them. If it sounds pretty good. You have them. Also, I think it had to do with the head unit as well. Maybe the Infinity equipt vehicles had EQ fader dials on the face???? Not sure though. If it doesn't say Infinity anywhere's. You don't have it.

It should say infinity in the speaker grill and or on the radio.....I guess there only way to tell "fo sure" would be to take the front door speakers out and see if a tiny amp is bolted to it. I have never seen an infinity system that doesnt say it on the door or radio.

well it doesn't say anywhere so out it comes!

think I have a bad ground back there somewhere or some wires coming out of the connector as sometimes the right speakers won't work and when I try to turn it up via the steering wheel controls it will change the song instead (no, not pressing the wrong button lol )

Typically, the word "Infinity" would be written on the radio and sometimes on the speaker grilles, too.

de8212- Not all Mopar vehicles with separate tweeters are Infinity systems. For example, I have a 2003 Neon R/T with tweeters in the dash, but it is not the Infinity system. Most vehicles nowadays are coming with separates in the front of the car/truck. It helps enchance sound quality and makes the car/truck more appealing to a buyer.

Sinful- If you replace the radio and you are not getting sound after you make all of the connections, then you do indeed have the Infinity system. At that point, there are a few companies that will make an amp integration harness (to incorporate the Infinity amplifier). Stop by a local car audio shop and pick one up - they are usually about $15-$20.

Hope this helps.

I was referring to his 2000 dodge truck. I may still be incorrect but that's why I said I "thought".
