First time making a custom sub box, couple q's...
I bought a pair of Kicker Comp 12" subs at Circuit City, just taking advantage of the fall of Circuit City...
I am going to run the 08 ZX400.1 amp by Kicker... Now... On to the enclosure... I want something a little low to the ground and also something that would sound fairly decent... So, I am going to do a ported setup... The exterior dimensions are 45Wx7.75Hx15"L and will be using 3/4 MDF... This will give a volume of 2.124 cu/ft. Per the specs of the 12's in a ported box, they want 1.75 cu/ft + port volume each. Now I have seen the pre-fabbed boxes, from Kicker, that seem smaller than that... If I don't use a baffle to separate the two subs, will I be okay in the sound dept? I want to do round ports... Maybe 3"x4.25 that Crotchfield sells... One on each side of the box... Input? Comments?

one way kicker gets away with a smaller box ported is by changing port length and or diameter. What do you drive m8? if it will fit i say go for it, should get nice and loud. Looks like a good setup m8. tc
