So i got a 99 ram 1500, front speakers are 6x9 and rear i think are 5 1/4.

What is the depth on the speakers.

Wanting to do an easy install and need speakers that could just get put in basically

The front doors have 2 wires running to them, not sure about rear.

What are a good speaker that i could probably just pickup from best buy or something.

I know the front driver door has a green and a red wire running to a plug which then the stock speaker plugs right into, i want to cut the red and green wire and splice a new speaker in its spot...


Not an infinity system(No tweeter and No built in amp)

 

I put pioneer 6x9's in the front and i think i put 6 1/2's in the rear they are a little bigger than the stock ones but they still fit depth wise i dont think it will matter to much on what brand you get my personal preference is the pioneer but alpines are nice too

 

If you're looking for a simple system that will sound good, go with either Alpine or Infinity Kappas (both available at Best Buy). If you're wanting to invest a decent amount into your truck's audio system, pick up a 4 channel amplifier as well.
