Talking Spendig some Tax Refund on the Sound System *Updated*

So listed below is what I am planning on putting in. The only thing not on the list is the sub box. Just gonna do a single for right now. I am still looking for one. Let me know what you think of these components together or maybe some other suggestions if you have one. Thanks

SPR-17S - Alpine 6.5" 2 Way Component Speaker System

SPR-13C - Alpine 5.25" 2 Way 270 Watt Speakers

500/5 - JL Audio 5 Ch. Amplifier

XA-PCS4-1 - JL Audio 4 AWG Power Amplifier Kit

10W0v2-4 - JL Audio 10" 4-ohm W0v2 Series Subwoofer

JL has always had a great reputation for performance. Though typically it costs a little more than others in its category. I personally have found Alpine amps a little lacking. Just my .02 worth.

Alpine amps? Really?

But Alpine and JL together. nothing wrong with that, good quality.

that sounds like its gonna be a good setup, I cant wait till I do my door speakers also. Subs alone are not enough, speakers are a must.

Learn from me and get a good quality box for the subs instead of w/e you can find first.

Also you probably want a clean-sweep or an aftermarket head unit.

The stock head unit doesn't output very well in terms of bass and it also distorts the bass.

I'm sure i can be getting a lot more performance if i had those things. Nice quality stuff you have though.

id say go for the spx-17REF components for the front and have a 4ch amp where channels 1 and 2 power the tweeters and 3 and 4 power the mid bass, it allows for more tweaking and you can cut the highs out of the mid bass. However, the crossover is still installed, there are two inputs exactly for doing this. For the rear just install some type-s coaxial powered of the head unit. The rear stage ruins sound quality so its essentially just for passengers. i am kinda of OCD so I would run a all Alpine with a alpine 4ch pdx150.4 amp and a pdx1000.1 for subs with alpine type x 10" subs.

I already have an Alpine Head Unit. CDA 9820XM.......the only unit ever made that had the XM receiver built in. I love it. Actually, I have an Infinity 4 channel amp new still in the box. It was given to me a year or so ago. But I don't want to have to install two amps especially with only one sub.
