I just got a used 2009 Journey this week and I didnt have any problem getting my phone synced with the Uconnect but I am having some problems with its functionality.

It tells me I can make a call by saying a number or a name but it wont let me call by using a name. Any name I say it trys to read it as a number. For example if I say "Call Jason" which Jason is a name in my phone book in my phone it will say "calling 27" or if I say "Call Dad" it will say calling "#1" no matter what name I say its trying to read it as a number.

The other problem I'm having is it doesnt always read the numbers correctly either. I have a few numbers that I call frequently that it will never get right. It has triple 7's in it and no matter how i say them it always gets it wrong. I have other numbers that it has no trouble with.

I do not have an accent or speech problem. I'm speaking very normal and it still isnt working. This is driving me nuts. Please help!

I have this same problem in my 2008 Dodge Ram with Uconnect.


I just gave up on trying to say Call dad or w/e and just go Call 123-321-1234 type thing.

But yeah it is pretty annoying and would be nice to actually use the features.
