Default 2005 Durango SLT VES System

I recently purchased a 2005 Durango that has the VES in it and of course it came with no owners manual, no remote, and no headphones. The dealer indicated I could just go out and buy wireless headphones and it would work. So far I can only get it to work through the vehicle's stereo on not through the headphones that I went out and purchased. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas on what I should be doing or doing wrong?

Thanks.

HERE's one you can buy. Also check Ebay for OEM headphones as they are going for ~$50/pr used and ~$70/pr new

The OEM headphones are IR and I believe they need to be programmed. Did you do any programming for the new one's? If not, that's likely your problem. I have no idea how to program them either. The headphone's also take batteries if you weren't aware.

I borrowed my neighbors remote control from his Dodge van and was able to control the functions of the DVD player but still got no sound through my headphones that I purchased and his headphones from his van. In looking at both my headphones and his headphones, I am not sure there is much for a programming option as it is basically a power one and volume and that is it. So I guess my next option might be to take it to the stereo place I bought the headphones from to see if they can get them programmed or something to work. Hopefully they can make it function because I really do not want to listen to my kids DVDs through my stereo on a road trip. Any other suggestions??

Well, you DO need to program them so they can recieve the proper signal. it's just like buying a universal remote control for your TV and remote entry for your car. They won't work until programmed to accept the appropriate signal.
The remote control from his van likely worked because your utilizing the same signal. Just like having the same TVs in different rooms. They will work for either one because they are already programmed to recieve the same signal.

Hi, I am new to this. I just purchased a 2006 Dodge Durango Limited. It has the DVD in it and it did not come with headphones or a manual. Is there somewhere I can download one and does anyone know where I can get headphones?
