Need help wiring amp
I have a 2002 Quad Cab, and I recently bought some new 6x9's (Polk Audio db691) to replace my blown door speakers. I am using my stock head unit and want to power these speakers with a Rocksford Fosgate Punch 100DSM which doesnt have speaker level inputs, just RCA. Could someone PLEASE help me with some wiring details?...Thanks in advance!!!

your stock radio has to have RCA cables in it to run to an amp for the sound , i have never taken my stock radio out to see if they are equpied with RCA outputs, every stock radio i have seen do not have RCA outputs, sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear ...
Well that is not totally true...if your amp has speaker level inputs, you dont need RCA outputs from your radio...this amp i have only has RCA inputs...i know they make LOC's (line output converter) that can be wired somehow, but i have never done that as i have always used aftermarket head units with RCA outputs in the past...i am sure somebody out there can help?????
your stock radio doesn't have RCA outputs so the only way you can get around that is to get a line-out converter from hi(speaker wire) to low(RCA). Walmart should have them.
Or you can get a sound processor or a line-driver/x-over unit that carries hi sgnal in and provides the rca low level out.

That is what i was thinking i was going to have to do dirtydog...So do i "tap into, not cut" the front speaker wires to install this converter...run the rca jacks from the converter into my amp, then tap back into the wires again to feed my speakers?....i do know all of this can be accomplished somehow as i talked to a rep. from crutchfield and they said it can...i found the speakers and i had an old amp a lot cheaper than they were selling for elsewhere, but of course they will not help with installation now.

wow thats a lot of work tapping into speaker wire just for a amp, i thought you wanted to run RCA's from the HU what will the sound quality be if your tapped into other speakers to get the hi low frequence that you need ? are you opposed to getting a new HU ? that would be much easier and probably sound 10x better ? IMO but its all up to you .
I really dont want to spend the $ on a new HU... i have to run RCA's from it to my amp as that is the only inputs on the Punch100...Crutchfield support assures me it will work and sound great, but they were trying to hook me up with another amp that had speaker level inputs as well as the RCA's which didnt need a converter...i dug out an old amp that i have had for years and was wanting to use it instead...like i said before, i found the speakers cheaper and using my amp, so they are not going to help me with the install....i really dont mind the work, just need help to make sure i do it right...so my thought was to buy a converter, tap into the ouputs out of my HU and run that to the amp, then out of the amp to the speakers...is this correct?...if it is, do i run the wires out of the amp straight to the speakers, or back to where i tapped into on the back of the HU?...
The easiest way to do this is to cut the wiring on the back of the head unit for the front spks. from the radio's front spkr output go to the line out converter. from there go with RCA's to the input of the amp. Then from the amp, run speaker wire back up to the head unit location and connect the amps spkr wires to the factory wiring going to the front speakers... Sorry I do not have details on the factory wring color codes or I would post them here
