Default The better amp

I'm doing some amp shopping for my two 10" kicker compvr's subs in a 05 quad cab. I want some serious bass out of these subs and prefer to go with either the kicker amps or alpine amps, so can anybody tell me which brand and model to go with. I also want it to be a size that can possibly fit under the drivers seat, no longer than 19" in length.

If their dual 2 ohms, then you can go with the kicker kx600. If they are dual 4 ohms, you will need to go with a 1 ohm stable amp that puts out about 600 watts. Neither kicker or alpine make an amp that will power the dual 4 ohm subs correctly.

Basic ohms calcs for 2 speakers for a mono amp.

parallel: (R1+R2)/2= total ohms (4ohm+4ohm)/2=2ohm (only if the speakers are the same value)
series: R1+R2= total ohms 4ohm+4ohm=8ohm

I have wired up 32 speakers using series/parallel config once for a 4ohm load.

If they are dual 2 ohm coils per speaker, you can series both speaker coils for 4ohm and then parallel both speakers for a total of 2ohm. This is what I do for the Alpine SWS-1022.

If they are single coil 4 ohm, you just parallel both speakers again for 2 ohms.

I am running as Alpine MRD-M301 MONO amp at 2ohm rated at 350w. Its the one on the left in the pic.

Alpine has 4 2ohm stable amps. Alpine Website
