Default Weirdest issue ever: I get all 4 speakers on "radio", but only the rear on CD or Aux?

This is the weirdest issue I've ever heard of in my life... and I used to install car audio for a living!

I had an aftermarket stereo. It worked fine on Radio, but when I put it on CD or aux, the front speakers wouldn't work. I asked around and realized the only logical problem was the car stereo (it was 8 years old afterall).

So I just bought a brand new fancy every-function-anyone-could-ever-want stereo to replace it.

I hook everything up and once again- I get all 4 speakers (plus the sub) on radio, but on CD, Ipod, Aux, or Bluetooth, I only get the rear speakers (plus the sub) no front speakers?

The front speakers are also a little fainter on radio too, so I have to do front +4 just to balance them, but it sounds great with radio.

Does anyone have ANY idea what this could be? It makes NO logical sense to me whatsoever why they are like that.

They are NOT intermittent- they always work perfectly with radio, and never work with the others.

Any insight? is this a ram thing?

Its in a 98 ram 1500 4x4

Someone yell at me and tell me to use the "search function". (I did look inside this forum, but found it under 2nd gen rams). I never fathomed that it would actually be a car specific thing!

This is for whoever searches this forum for this question in the future: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...-problems.html

But I do have a quick question. If it uses the power from the output to power the amplified speakers, then the amp trigger won't provide enough power, right?

so instead it needs to be spliced into the Red wire? (If I remember correctly, Yellow is constant on, red is for when the stereos on only?)

Thanks!
