Default New HU

So, I'm finally to the point of replacing the stock stereo, I think I've set my sights on the one I want, I'm just so reluctant to give up my Uconnect.

What I have:
4x Polk DB651's, one in each door.
2x Pioneer 303r's (12's Thinking about replacing with Kicker CVT's)
Bottom Rung stock radio (I want to say REC?) My Uconnect buttons are on the mirror and not the radio.

I'm thinking about adding a ]Kenwood X994. I've thought about going the double din route, but it's just way to expensive for me at the moment. The Kenwood's going to run me around 350-400 with everything I need (TWO boxes for Sirius radio!!).

Anyway, I'm just trying to see what people think about different HU's. I thought I would be ok with just upgrading to decent speakers(Doors, not the Subs..), but I'm not, it still sounds iffy at best.

Do you have the stock Infinity package or not? The majority of HUs I have had were always Pioneer. I have had a Kenwood and a Sony and Im sure one or two others over all the years but they all did their job.

I have the non-infinity. I had thought about putting my own speakers in the dash though, but that will come much later.

I've looked at a few of the Pioneers, I just like the Kenwood's features a bit more, namely the A2DP bluetooth audio streaming.

I've read a lot of your posts about this subject, I'm also considering bypassing the stock harness like you suggested in one, adding an amp, and running 12 gauge cable to all of the doors (And possibly the dash).

Still not to sure what I want to do, most of my HU budget was used on an engagement ring, so I had to take the double din off the table.. I may just wait and see if I would rather save back up for it.

I should also add that I'm not really into the Nav radio idea, atleast at the moment (I always have my tomtom) which is the rest of why I was swaying away from the DD radio.

Well being you dont have the Infinity system you can get the harness and use it if you want. It is a lot cheaper for the non-Inf version.

You could still easily run RCAs down the pass side for the amps and your power, ground and remote down the drivers side.

You can pick up a new DD HU for about 250-350 with no Navi BTW.
