Default anyone wire up a subwoofer to the factory head unit?

I have a set of mtx's in the thunderform from my 3rd gen that I swore I was gonna sell. But after finding out they will fit in my 2010, Im thinking I might throw em in. the only problem is I have the stock head unit with satellite that I dont really want to replace or mess with. So I'm wondering if there's a way to wire up the subs off of it.

Yes, what you need is a line out converter. It converts the speaker wire coming out of the head unit into RCAs that can be plugged into an amp. I am using one with my stock head unit and it works great.

use the PAC. plugged right into RES unit and kept the original speakers going and provided a amp power on.

if you use the PAC 1) you loose the ability to use an ipod, 2) you have a hideous wire dangling
