Default Wierd sound system issue

Hello,

I have an '04 Durango Limited with the premium Infinity speaker system with subwoofer. Last week, I started experiencing some loud squeaching noise coming from the passenger side tweeter. Even if the volume was at zero, noise was as loud as if the volume was at max.

The driver side rear door speaker started making the same noise as well. As soon as you would turn off the radio, it would obviously stop making the noise.

It stopped, radio and sound was fine.

Tonight, on my way back to work, it started again and after 5 minutes, it completely cut out, no more sound at all, absolutely nothing. When you would turn off vehicle, start it back, sound is fine for 5 seconds and cuts out. Radio is on, but no sound at all.

Can someone help me here?

I was thinking the amplifier as well, that would need replacement. Could it be a bad wire somewhere?

im gonna have to agree with what was said above. check the wiring first (cause it's the cheaper route to go), then explore the amp.

Sounds like you have a wire grounded out. Everytime that bare wire touches metal and grounds, your speakers give you feedback
