Default OEM Crossover

I have a 2000 Durango with the factory 6 speaker infinity system. I'm getting ready to replace my front speakers with a new set of infinity components. Do I need to use the crossover that comes with the new speakers or is there one built into the factory amp? Thanks.

You will want to use the crossover that comes with the components. Also, you will probably need to bypass the factory amp. Do you have an aftermarket head unit?

No, I have the factory head unit and amp. I was hoping to replace the speakers with a good set of Infity's instead of going to the dealer for oem's.

So I take it your speakers are blown? The woofers or the tweeters?

The woofers in both front doors are pretty much shot. The tweeters still seem to be fine. I replaced the rear door speakers last year with a set of Alpine 2 ways.

If i were you, and i wanted to keep all the factory equipment, i would just get the coaxels to match your rear speakers. Just plug em right in to the factory wires.

Yeah, I'll probably do it that way just to keep it simple. Thanks.
