Installin amp and subs in 2006 Ram 1500 QC.
Thanks, found one that hows me how to do it. Ive been searching around for correct speaker size for rear doors. Crutchfield says 6 1/2, but all of them say with some alteration. From what I can tell, stock speaker size is 5 1/4. Cruchfield says this will not fit. Can someone clarify proper size that will fit without modification?
I have 02 Ram 1500 QC and my fronts are 6x9 but I'm not sure about yours I would just take door panel off and look or go by what clutchfield says and if you decide to take door panel off once again real simple just few screws and clamps then lift an it comes right off
I would say remove door panel because I had all new speakers installed in my truck and I I didn't have time so my friend from Video Kingdom did it well he looked up in some book to see what size I needed for the front and so I bought them from where he works but when he removed door panel it ended up being 6x9, so I would just look yourself to be 100% sure

Yeah, that sounds like the best option. I have another pair of either 5 1/4 or 6.5s, I can't remember what size, but they are aftermarket. I can always pull the door panel off, test fit those, and if they work, well, I guess I know what I need!
Thanks again for all the help. Found the head unit I want to buy, now I just have to settle on decent pairs of speakers for under $200, and a sub box, and get them shipped within the next week.

Well, got into my rear doors last night. The speaker is a 5 1/4, but has tabs that stick out that may make it able to fit a 6.5. Test fit my 6.5s I had on standby, and they were just a little to big, so probably going to need a bakery, but think that because of design of the stock speakr, 6.5s are probably my best option.
