Default 2005 Ram 2500 Aftermarket infinity

Hey guys.

I am a little stuck with a head unit install in a 2005 Dodge Ram pickup, it is the 2500 with Infinity System.

I have the Kenwood 627 Headunit with Satnav, iPod and bluetooth connections.

I have the loom and it powers up no problem, everything works apart from the Audio.

Having done a little research on here, it appears that the amp trigger wire is not catered for within the aftermarket loom, and as such, it requires the head unit to power the amp through can bus.

I am guessing that my only choice is to buy a very expensive convertor of some sort or bypass the amp and rewire the speakers...!

This is not something i wanted to do. It has been suggested, that i could cut into the loom and splice into it while leaving the original head unit wired up and hidden under the seat or similar, thus removing the can bus/amp issue, and allowing me to use the aftermarket unit.

The next thing that throws a spanner into the works, is that i am in Norway, s getting parts for anything American is a bit of an issue or very time consuming...

Anybody that could help? It would be greatly appreciated...!

if it were me I would just run new speaker wire to the doors and put new speakers in the doors.

From what I understand (kinda new to me) but for the factory infinity system because its amped. You will need to install this:

If your factory Amp doesnt come on... your audio will not play. The radio will light up but no sound. I just bought a used Dakota and it has this unit. Works just fine, however you loose the ability to fade front to back. You still have left to right but just not front to back.

Heres a cheaper unit on Amazon:

I hope this helps
