Default Can I swap my 04 radio for a 07 radio?

Hey guys, I've got a cd/cassette player in my 04 QC 4x4 hemi I bought a few weeks ago. It works great but I really like to use my iPod through an auxiliary port or something but of course my radio doesn't have an auxiliary port. Well there is a local guy selling his stock 07 cd player out of his ram( he got a custom stereo put in) and it has an auxiliary port. He's selling it for a really good price but I'm afraid of compatibility problems. I would think since there in the same "3rd generation" the wiring/connectors would be the same? Any help would be appreciated

No, the 07 radio is designed for CANBus system, yours is a PCI bus system (they won't interface without a custom translator box, which you need to be or know an electricla engineer to make work correctly). What you can do is get a sat radio adapter (Terk) and plug that in to the back of your head unit, then run a RCA to headphone jack adapter out of your dash and plug it in that way. Someone on the forum did this, I also have this and it works great, you just switch to sat radio mode on the head unit.

Or you can put in a $100 aftermarket head unit and have better sound quality as well as any inputs you like. I didn't want to swap out my deck for quite awhile but even with a cheapo Alpine I'm very happy with it.

Sweet thanks guys for info, that saved me from spending money in the wrong place. I'll look into getting one of those adapters or new head unit. Thanks again guys
