Is it worth the trouble to replace these speakers? I think there's three In my dash and from what I read its a pita to do.

 

Yes, it is worth it. Not hard at all. I disconnected the one in the middle and replaced the right and left speaker with Memphis Classics as the Infinity ones are garbage.

 

I just had the dash off while doing my Navigation Radio install.
Getting the dash off was pretty easy.
The 3 speakers has two screws each and can be accessed easily.

Start with a screw driver or preferably some kind of non-marring tool.

stick it under the very corner and pry up.













Then work your way across the dash. There are 10 clips along the front edge and 5 clips along the back edge to release.






Once all the front clips are released you can see the rear retaining clips.






To release the rear clips hold the dash as shown and give it a pull towards yourself.








Then you can access the speakers.






I don't have a pic of the speakers but this pic shows the middle speaker and one of the screws.
As you can see they are pretty easy to get to.

 

You only have 3 speakers up front if you have the Infinity sound. otherwise, they are blank and you just have door speakers. Adding them to the standard 4 speaker steroe is not reccomended as it changes the resistance of the existing speakers and will over work your HU. Besides, more speakers does not make a better sound, better speakers make a better sound.

Just be CAREFUL with that top dash piece because it is very well known to crack.

I had the 7 speaker stock Infinity and although it was nice, my 4 speaker after market door speakers sound much better IMO.
