Default Quality Sound...

I know this particular topic could be debated ALL day, but here's the deal...

Bought the truck on Thursday, and has the infinity sound system, (not sure about an amp..heard some models have it), and a Pioneer AVH-P4200DVD in the dash. Under the seat behind the driver's seat, is the end of a wire that was used for a subwoofer. The stereo operates generally well, but don't know if the previous owner soley added the subwoofer or changed the infinity speakers as well.

My question............ if I want to change out the speakers, just 6x9's and 5.25's...what brand would match up well with my current setup? Nothing extravagant for competition or anything, just something I can enjoy that isn't "tinny" sounding..

Go listen to a few different setups. Generally, silk dome tweeters are smoother sounding and not as "tinny" as aluminum or titanium tweeters. Keep that in mind. I would look into Infinity, Polk, JBL, and JL Audio for starters. They make some pretty good stuff for what you want in the $100 range per pair.

Also, try to go for 6.5's if space allows.

I had 5.25s in my rear doors and made custom MDF trim rings and added 6.5s in their place
