Default MP3 outlet

Sorry if this subject is been asked, but my question may be a little different. I have a 2004 Dodge 1500 5.7L Hemi. I want a MP3 player outlet and have the opportunity to buy a 2007-2009 FM/AM/CD unit with the outlet. Will that unit fit in a 2004 truck with little or no modifications? If not, do they offer a kit to do a clean dash install or does it have to lay in the Glove box.
Thanks, oologahan

OK, you have an 04. But what is the 07-09 coming out of? If it is a Ram, it will not fit.

When you say MP3 outlet, Im not sure if you mean a 3.5mm aux connection or USB connection or what but those can be added to the 04

I want to be able to play songs from my Samsung Galaxy Note over the car speakers, I can use 3.5 or USB. Which is better, can it be dash mounted to look factory, what do you suggest? Thanks for the info. Mike

There is a thread on here somewhere where a guy posted pics and everything on how to do it. But it is a 3.5mm jack and not USB. You can buy it at any Radio Shack and drill a hole and mount it anywhere.

If it were me, I would mount it in the blank plate where the air bag switch normally goes unless you actually have that switch

Any idea how and where I hook the USB to the stereo, does the "kit" come with a adapter, or is there a plug in on the stereo.

There is no plug on the OEM radio. USB is not possible because the hardware will not support it. A 3.5mm na k is possible but again, you will have to alter and configure the radio for it.

Why don't you just get a double din radio with aux inputs and a custom made bezel for it. You can get both pretty cheap. Then you can have a touch screen, remote, usb, blue tooth, ect
