Default 12' Woffers in a new Quad Cab?

Has anyone ever seen or heard of anyone puting two 12' subs under the back seat of a new Dodge Ram Quad Cad? My friend just put him two tens and they sound good, but being the rebel that I am, I want to beat his system. So Im looking at raising my back seats a bit, and installing two 12' low air space speakers. Any suggestions would be helpful.

You might have to do some heavy modification to do so. I know 10's fit just fine and MTX make a custom preloaded box for the new quad cabs that sounds good. Good luck though in trying. If you figure it out let me know cause 12's sound better than 10's IMO.

With 12" subs you typically need 1 square foot of sealed air space per sub, if you use a vented box you will need about 1.5-2 feet of air space. Measure from the bottom of your seat to the floor & add 1 inch, that will be maximum depth of your subs. You might not have enough space for a 12" with a decent sized magnet, then it would be more effective to use some high-powered 10s.

Go to ebay and look up some Audionahn ALUM12Q (1,000 watts rms, 2,000 watts peak), then go to http://www.audiobahninc.com/ to get the measurements on the subs. Then Get some 1/2" MDF board from Home Depot and start cutting.

These subs will make your ears bleed

I just built my own box for 10s. It rocks. When i built the box i made it a little too tall so i unbolted the seat and raised it about 1 1/2 inches with spacers and it fit fine. If i were to go to 12's i would probably do the same and it would allow me to make the box big enough.

Hey everyone. I'm new to the forum. After looking around I have found a lot of good info. I thought I would add my 2 cents about the subs. I have also been looking for 12 inch subs for my 03 quad cab. I found this web site...

http://stealthboxes.com

They have a custom built fiberglass box with an MDF top. They can also build a custom amp tray in the top of the box. It says 1 cu ft of air space, which should be enough. I am looking at the kicker S12L7's which require .88 cu ft of space. Downside it it is really expensive (at least by my checkbook). I have not ordered one yet simply because of cost...I am hoping it might come down. Anyway you might want to check it out.
