I currently have an 05 Magnum R/T with a REC nav system. I am wanting to replace it and keep my steering wheel controls (only thing I'm wanting to keep....I'm bypassing the amp, using aftermarket speakers, etc)

Is the only thing I'll need to make the steering wheel controls work with the new head unit the Axxess aswc-1?

I've read tons of posts online and it seems like I'm reading mixed ideas where I might need some kind of canbus setup plus the aswc-1 and possibly other stuff too.

I am knowledgeable with car stereos and amps as this isn't my first system, just my first in a newer Dodge that requires canbus stuff.
