you will also need an amp to run the type R's. Or where you going to burn your car down by hooking them up to your head unit????????

Besides needing about 2 cu.ft. of space and besides them being dual voice coils (why?) and besides them being capable of 500 watts each-- yes they will sound good. Depending on the amp you stick in there. A 1,000 watts? Again why?

I have 2-12" kickers powered by an old rockford punch 40 and it sounds great, the 60 was too much. 68 ragtop Vette so has to over power open top and sidepipes. Compare to a closed insulated cockpit.
I will be putting in a single rockford 12" in my ram cab 200 watts. Not much cu.ft. room and not much cab to fill with sound. See my post below that no one answered about how much would be too much.

Unless sound competition or bragging is required you don't need megawatts of power. You will use 1 Kwatt in these but not during normal use.

BTW the head units wattage output is basicly a lie and its better to buy amps than rely on a head units power for wattage.
If after using the head unit on after market speakers and aren't satisfied get a smallish decent amp for that use.
If your running an after market head unit with stock speakers and woofs your wasting money and time.
