Will the 97-02 units which plug right into my 94 1st gen work in the first gen? I think the one I am replacing is from a 98 but I am not sure.
I grabbed one off eBay which they said worked fine when they took it out because mine has an intermittent fault. It seemed ok the radio presets were picking up something I could make out words but it had static when I installed it but I was busy so didn't look for stations and it played a recorded CD until I shut it off before it finished the song. Yesterday it was cutting out and skipping when it even tried to play recorded CD's I didn't try to use the radio. I went out to program it set the clock this morning and the scanner just runs and runs. If I pick a station I know it won't play it. I tried AM and it found stations.
I am wondering if this might be some kind of generational compatibility issue.
