Default Need help on new sub

ok I got a 100RMS, 300Peak, 12" Verge subwoofer and hooked it up to my 340 watt amp in my trunk, now why does it not even play loud enough to hear from the seats!!? it recommends 14 gauge speaker wire i am using 18. that matter? I am just getting started in all of this audio and so think I'm dumb if you want but I wanna know!! lol should not this be a big enough sub to pound real hard? like, hear from a distance? thanks for all your alls help! Merry Christmas

check the output on your amp. also make sure that your sub is wired right.see if your amp has a bridged switch . if it does make sure your sub is connected to the right channel. if your useing a cross over make sure tha outpuy of the crossover is turned up.
just my .02

that sub sounds ok not enoph to blow your doors off but you should definatly hear it in your front seats. I would check your impeadence or ohms cuz usually your amp will only run at its full wattage at 2 ohms mabe your running it at 4 ohms. Also check the ohms on your sub and if its only a single voice coil you could be limited with options. Like you said your new to the whole audio thing and it can be quite confusing. I hope my babbling was somewhat helpful.
