Default 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 sport 4x4 Radio

I’ve got a 2nd gen 2001 dodge 1500 sport with the original stock radio in it and I would like to add an aux cable to it that will connect to my phone so I can play music. I was curious if there is a cable that connects to the radio that has a 3.5mm aux end or a iPhone lighting cable, either or. It doesn’t matter what end it’s got as long as it has either one of those two ends. My dad has a 2004 Dodge 2500 3rd gen with the original stock radio and he has added a aux cable that has an end that connects to the radio that replaces or ties into the CD system and the other end is a iPhone 20pin that connects to his phone. I have looked and I will continue to look for a aux cable that will possibly fit my radio. I just thought I would throw this out there and see if anyone knows anything that might be able to help me. I would think there is a cable out there that’s like what I’m looking for I just have to find it. I have also included some pictures of my radio in my truck and some pictures of my radio in a Mopar catalog. I’ve also included a picture of a aux cable for a car radio that is similar to what I’m looking for but just for my specific radio.

I think you'd be better off adding an aftermarket radio instead of trying to source factory equipment. 2001 was the last year for that audio set up. The sky is pretty much the limit for aftermarket.

On behalf of all the guys here who have had to work on vehicles with aftermarket radios though, please, please, PLEASE, use the proper adapter and installation kit. Don't hack the wires then ask us to fix it when you clipped the wires short in the dash.

X2! Get the adapters and it's a plug and play. No cutting/hacking. New stereos are awesome, load hundreds of mp3's on a memory stick and never run out of music. If you must keep the old one you could get a fm modulator that hooks to your phone via blue tooth..

Default Did you find a solution?

I'm trying to do the same exact thing, what solution did you end up going with?
