Default subs?

i just got a amplifier a pyramid 600 watt max peak amp and i got 8 guage 200 watt amplifier hook up kit ( sence the amp probably on really pushes 200 rms. i hooked everything up and as soon as it started working the indash started to mess up. like everytime i put in a cd the reciever would cut on then off. then after awhile it just wouldnt turn on at all.
my friend told me i "blew my system" what ever that means, he said it had something to do with my ground wire but im not sure cause im almost positive my ground wire it good. what should your ground wire look like. i hooked it up to a good looking bolt connected to the body of the car. i have a jvc reciever. can someone tell me what possibly is wrong?

Well whoever your friend is, hes not OEMPC certified thats for shure. Most likely is that you fried your head when you were connection your amp to your reciever. Dont worry, everythings fine, that said, its safe to say that you have ruined your head unit and you need to take a trip to best buy for a new one. Also since you seem like a do it yourselfer when you get your head go to www.the12volt.com and it will tell you everything you need to know about connecting your amp to your head unit.
