Default Speaker distortion

200 Dodge Intrepid SE with premium sound.

My tweeter on the driver side door is distorting with bass, any clue why it would even be getting enough bass to do this. Is there something wrong in the radio allowing it into the speaker. I have to but the bass all the way down to get rid of the noise.

I had it in the shop recently, and they told me the speaker was not the issue.

Sounds like the crossover is screwy. Not familar with the intrepids premium sound system. In the current cars there are external amps with built in crossovers. What shop did you bring it to, Dodge or a stereo shop??

A quick fix would to get some "Bass Blockers" (capicators and put it inline) if you check www.the12volt.com they have charts for different impedances and what value of a cap you would need.
